MERRITT BENCH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL is seeking a full time Library and prep teacher starting September 1, 2026. This role focuses on adapting resources and supporting diverse student needs.

In this 1.0 FTE continuing position, you will work closely with grade-level students, using your BC Teaching Certificate and familiarity with the BC Curriculum. A commitment to supporting social-emotional learning and building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents is essential for success in this collaborative school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Adapt materials and assessments for various learning needs
• Support students’ social-emotional development consistently
• Foster positive relationships with students and staff




• Collaborate as part of a school team for student success
• Ensure alignment with BC Curriculum and learning outcomes

Requirements:
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate required
• Teaching category five or higher experience
• Experience working with grade-level students
• Commitment to inclusion and diversity
• Preferred training in social-emotional learning support
