Make a difference as a Peer Services Navigator at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre in Vancouver. This full-time role supports women facing homelessness through access to vital services and programs.
In this permanent position, you will help marginalized women navigate a complex range of internal and external services. Your work will focus on addressing issues such as gender-based violence, mental health, and trauma informed care. Collaboration with the DEWC team will be essential to provide integrated support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate access to essential services for women at risk
• Work within an anti-oppression framework to empower clients
• Maintain detailed records and manage schedules efficiently
• Provide assisted referrals to community resources
• Collaborate with DEWC staff to enhance service delivery
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of experience with marginalized women
• Knowledgeable of issues impacting women in the Downtown Eastside
• Ability to thrive in a busy, crisis-driven workplace
• Experience in organizational and problem-solving skills
• First Aid Certification and NVCI required
