Our main responsibilities are:

Funding supports for municipalities.

A system that strives to ensure appropriate safety standards for the construction and maintenance of buildings and equipment.

Protections for new home buyers and required licensing for home builders.

Province-wide support for access to public library services for Albertans.

Management of about 2.6 million acres of public land in the province's three Special Areas.

Independent review and decisions on local matters by the Land and Property Rights Tribunal.

Working in the Alberta Firefighter Certification Program (AFCP) of the Community and Technical Support Branch, this position will provide services that include the development and maintenance of examination materials to support Alberta firefighter certifications. This position is also responsible for supporting AFCP operations, communications with stakeholders,



and the administration of the learning management system.

Develop and maintain the AFCP learning management system (LMS)

Draft and support the development and maintenance of materials for all AFCP evaluations

Support the maintenance of the AFCP accreditation with ProBoard and IFSAC (and other accreditation or national organizations)

Develop and maintain communications to support AFCP partners (e.g., departments, evaluators, instructors)

Actively participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities

Qualifications
Minimum Requirement Standard :



Diploma related to technical writing, education, or adult education; or equivalent experience as described below.

Equivalency : Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

1 year of education for 1 year of experience; OR

1 year of experience for 1 year of education

Assets :

Experience in administration and managing of learning management systems and/or online examination systems.

Experience in writing, evaluation and analysis.

Knowledge of adult education and evaluation principles.

Skills :

A high degree of attention to details (focus).

Strong communication skills (both oral and written).

Experience working on education/assessment materials, particularly those designed for job-related training or professional certification.

Basic project management skills to enable the position to plan, prioritize and manage assigned tasks.

Ability to demonstrate initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team.
