What You'll Do Prepare and coordinate detailed cost estimates for commercial and institutional construction projects from conceptual design through tender submission.
Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
Solicit, evaluate,
and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and accurate project budgets.
Support collaborative preconstruction efforts by working closely with project managers, operations teams, consultants, and clients.
Assist with value engineering, constructability reviews, procurement planning, and bid strategy development to improve project outcomes.
What We're Looking For 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor focused on commercial, institutional, healthcare, recreation, or mixed-use construction.
Experience preparing complete building estimates and managing multiple tenders in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of construction methods, labour productivity, material pricing, subcontractor procurement, and cost planning.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents with a high degree of accuracy.
