Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Team: 5–6 warehouse and delivery employees
We are looking for an experienced, organized, and hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our Ottawa warehouse.
This position is responsible for leading a team of approximately 5–6 employees, including warehouse staff and drivers, while ensuring that orders are picked, prepared, loaded, and delivered accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can keep a team organized, maintain high standards, solve problems quickly, and work alongside the team when needed. This is a hands-on management position where your leadership directly impacts the efficiency of the entire operation.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development
- Lead, supervise, train, and develop a team of 5–6 warehouse employees and drivers.
- Assign daily responsibilities and ensure employees understand priorities and expectations.
- Manage employee schedules, attendance, and time-off requests.
- Monitor performance and productivity and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Address performance issues professionally and promptly.
- Cross-train employees to provide flexibility and adequate coverage.
Daily Warehouse Operations
- Coordinate all daily warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, loading, and shipping.
- Organize daily priorities and ensure orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Coordinate drivers and delivery schedules to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and productive warehouse.
- Identify and resolve operational issues before they impact customers or deliveries.
- Ensure the warehouse is properly staffed and operating efficiently throughout the day.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies.
- Help minimize product damage, loss, and shrinkage.
- Ensure products are properly stored, organized, and accessible.
- Work with other departments to ensure inventory and order requirements are properly coordinated.
Safety & Equipment
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
- Ensure employees follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide and reinforce appropriate safety training.
- Regularly inspect warehouse equipment and vehicles and report maintenance requirements.
- Ensure safe loading, unloading, material handling, and warehouse practices.
- Maintain compliance with applicable Ontario health and safety requirements.
Communication & Accountability
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the warehouse, drivers, sales, logistics, and management.
- Communicate daily priorities and operational requirements to the team.
- Keep management informed of staffing, inventory, delivery, safety, and operational issues.
- Monitor warehouse performance,
including order accuracy, productivity, inventory accuracy, and on-time deliveries.
- Take ownership of problems and follow them through to resolution.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience managing or supervising a warehouse or distribution operation.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience scheduling and coordinating employees.
- Experience working with drivers and delivery operations is an asset.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach to managing employees.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment.
- Ability to lead by example and hold employees accountable.
- Forklift experience or certification is an asset but is not required
The successful candidate will be someone who takes ownership of the warehouse operation. You don't need to stand behind a desk all day — we are looking for a manager who is comfortable getting involved, helping the team when necessary, and making sure the job gets done properly. Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
