Wealth Planning Operations Associate

COMPANY PROFILE
August Group is a boutique multi-family office providing integrated wealth planning, tax, estate, and family office services to high-net-worth individuals and families across Canada and the US, including professional athletes and their families.
SUMMARY The Wealth Planning Operations Associate supports the Head of Wealth Planning and the broader planning team with the day-to-day administrative and operational execution behind each client's wealth plan. This role sits at the center of client project and task coordination, cash flow and budgeting support, insurance administration, banking coordination, estate document workflows, and retirement account administration for a sophisticated, cross-border client base.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Head of Wealth Planning in tracking and managing tasks across client planning projects
- Input and maintain accurate, up-to-date cash flow and budgeting data, and assist with entry-level financial planning tasks, under the oversight of the Head of Wealth Planning
- Manage the filing, renewal, and claims process for property & casualty, disability, and health insurance policies, working directly with our brokerage network
- Support day-to-day activity with our banking partners, including credit facilities and mortgage applications, under the oversight of the Head of Wealth Planning
- Assist with gathering and organizing estate planning documents, including wills and powers of attorney
- Liaise with client employers' administrative teams on contributions to pensions, 401(k)s, and other registered accounts, as well as other client onboarding duties
- Perform other administrative,
operational, and project support duties as required to support evolving business needs and departmental priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–4 years of experience in a wealth management, family office, insurance, banking, or financial services administrative role
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- CFP designation, or working towards a CFP, is an asset
- Familiarity with property & casualty, disability, and health insurance processes is an asset
- Exposure to retirement accounts (pensions, 401(k)s, RRSPs, or similar registered accounts) is an asset
- Proficient in leveraging AI tools and technology to improve productivity, enhance decision-making, and automate routine tasks
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail across multiple concurrent client files
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive client financial information
- Proficient in Excel; experience with portfolio management or CRM platforms (e.g., Addepar, Wealthbox) is an asset
- Comfortable working across both Canadian and US financial and administrative processes
