Job Overview

Nxstar Systems is seeking a full-time permanent skilled and dependable Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work while following engineering drawings, specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards. The successful candidate will prepare, assemble, and weld metal components using appropriate welding processes and equipment.

This position requires strong attention to detail, good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrate high-quality workmanship and efficiency with attention to detail, particularly when working with finish surfaces and materials.
- Perform tack welding and final welding using GMAW and FCAW welding processes.
- Estimate welding and fabrication labour hours and material requirements based on project scope, production methods, and technical specifications.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies according to project requirements.
- Conduct fabrication processes including forming, fitting, cutting, and assembling structural components.
- Operate common power and pneumatic tools effectively.
- Inspecting or reviewing completed fabrication against drawings/specifications.




- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and applicable code requirements.
- Adhere to all workmanship standards, safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and ISO standards.
- Additional duties as assigned to support the goals of the team and organization.

Qualifications

- Education: High school diploma or an engineering background is considered an asset.
- Candidates who possess both welding and previous estimation skills or experience will be considered a strong asset to the position.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift, handle, and position materials as required for the job.
- Possess a valid class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to commute to our facility in Kamloops, BC

Experience

- 1-2 years preferred

Compensation range may vary above or below the posted band based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the role requirements.
