Fabrication Production Supervisor

Position Summary

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Welding Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing fabrication and assembly operations while ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, safety, and compliance with ISO requirements.



This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can drive daily production targets, support welding and fitting operations, and foster a high-performing, safety-focused work environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure strict safety and regulatory compliance in all fabrication, welding, fitting and repair activities in accordance with Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.

Act as a hands-on working supervisor, leading by example while managing direct reports and assisting the team with welding and fitting operations.

· Lead weekly safety toolbox meetings and actively support hazard identification, incident reporting, and accident investigations within the fabrication area.

· Collaborate with engineering and management teams to provide accurate updates on job scope, critical-path timelines, workforce planning, equipment requirements, and production priorities.

· Complete administrative activities required for effective team management, including participating in interviews, managing time and attendance, supporting employee development, planning daily work schedules, organizing tasks, and documenting completed work.

· Evaluate employee performance regularly while providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and progressive discipline when required.

· Demonstrate operational flexibility to meet tight deadlines, proactively identify production bottlenecks,



and recommend practical technical, layout, or welding solutions to management.

Qualifications & Experience

· Current, valid CWB certification is preferred.

· Minimum of 8 years of hands-on metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing setting.

· Minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience in a fabrication shop workplace.

· Valid Canadian Red Seal Trade Certification as a Welder or Metal Fabricator is highly preferred and considered a strong asset.

· Certified Health and Safety Representative designation is preferred.

Compensation: $35–$40 per hour
