Support public health initiatives with Heart & Stroke as an Advocacy Coordinator. Engage in advocacy efforts and coordinate campaigns to promote healthier food environments for children.
This hybrid role focuses on supporting the Stop Marketing to Kids Coalition alongside the Senior Manager, Campaigns. You will assist with advocacy projects, coordinate meetings, and maintain communications with stakeholders. A solid emphasis is placed on documentation, tracking government interactions, and helping the Youth Against Marketing to Kids council drive impactful advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate Coalition working group meetings and prepare minutes
• Support the sharing of advocacy materials among members
• Facilitate meetings with external stakeholders and government officials
• Document and track Coalition’s government interactions
• Draft communications and advocacy materials for Outreach
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in communications or public health preferred
• Experience in stakeholder relations and advocacy efforts
• Familiarity with Google Drive, SharePoint, and MS Teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
Contribute to effective public engagement campaigns aimed at advancing health standards for kids in Canada.
