We are seeking a detail-oriented Designer/Drafter to support engineering and project teams within the Canadian nuclear industry. This role is responsible for producing accurate, high-quality
construction and fabrication drawings
that comply with applicable
Canadian nuclear, safety, and quality regulations . The successful candidate will work in a highly regulated environment where precision, configuration control, and safety are critical.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, revise, and maintain
construction drawings ,
fabrication drawings , and as-built documentation for nuclear facilities and related infrastructure
Develop layouts, assemblies, sections, and detail drawings suitable for construction and installation
Apply appropriate
tolerancing ,
GD&T; , and dimensional controls in accordance with design requirements and applicable standards
Perform and document
tolerance stack-up analyses
to ensure proper fit, function, and constructability
Incorporate
T-measure increments
and dimensional best practices into drawing packages
Interpret engineering calculations, specifications, codes, and standards to accurately reflect design intent
Support interdisciplinary coordination between mechanical, structural, electrical, and civil design teams
Participate in drawing reviews, checks, and revisions in accordance with nuclear quality assurance requirements
Ensure drawings meet
Canadian nuclear safety, construction, and workplace safety regulations
Maintain strict configuration control and document traceability throughout the project lifecycle
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in
AutoCAD
and
SolidWorks
Demonstrated experience producing
construction drawings
and
fabrication drawings
Strong knowledge of
tolerancing , including
GD&T;
Experience performing
tolerance stack-ups
Familiarity with
T-measure increments
Ability to interpret engineering specifications, construction standards, and regulatory requirements
Solid attention to detail and ability to work within formal QA and document control processes
Regulatory & Standards Knowledge (Required)
Familiarity with applicable
Canadian nuclear and safety regulations , including:
Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC)
regulatory framework
CSA standards
relevant to nuclear facilities and construction
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
requirements applicable to construction environments
Understanding of drawing practices suitable for
nuclear construction and installation
Preferred / Asset Skills
Experience with
Revit
(asset)
Prior experience in the
Canadian nuclear , power generation, or other highly regulated industries
Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance programs (e.g.,
CSA N286
or equivalent)
Experience supporting field construction, installation, or commissioning activities
Education & Experience
Diploma or degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field
Relevant industry experience producing construction and fabrication drawings; nuclear experience preferred
The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$60.00 and CA$90.00.
