Canada Post is recruiting for dependable, organized individuals to deliver mail on an on-call basis to various communities in and around Chatsworth, Ontario.
As an on-call relief employee with Canada Post, you'll be working with an organization focused on growth and innovation, recognized as one of Canada's top employers and best corporate citizens. Responsibilities Sort, collect, and deliver mail items safely and on time
Acquire and maintain knowledge of local roads, customers, and delivery receptacles
Ensure mail is safely secured in your possession at all times
Process Canada Post products and services including Change of Address Notifications, Damaged Mail, and Items Delivered Bills (IDB)
Wear Canada Post identification visibly while delivering and collecting mail
Lift and carry items up to 50 lb / 22.7 kg
Operate a motor vehicle safely in all weather and traffic conditions
Qualifications & Requirements Valid permanent provincial driver's licence — Class 5 or G
Satisfactory protected driving record (driver's abstract dated within the last 30 days required if selected)
Personal vehicle meeting Canada Post's mandatory requirements: minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1,415 litres), automatic transmission, power windows, metal roof-top with accessory power outlet, interior window sill height between 38" and 45" from ground, maximum interior width of 56"
Automobile liability insurance covering use of personal vehicle for mail delivery
Experience making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in varied conditions
Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lb throughout the workday
Applicants residing within 75 km of the Post Office in Chatsworth are preferred. Preference will be given to Indigenous People (First Nations, Metis or Inuit) or Persons with disabilities under a special measure employment equity initiative.
Valid Class 5 or G driver's licence, satisfactory safe driving record, personal vehicle meeting Canada Post cargo and specification requirements, automobile liability insurance, ability to lift up to 50 lb.
