Support individuals grappling with addiction as a Mental Health & Addictions Counsellor in the Manitoulin Island district. Deliver clinical assessment and counseling while promoting wholistic health initiatives.

Under the guidance of the Mental Health and Addictions Program Manager, the successful candidate will provide essential withdrawal management services and concurrent disorder support. This role seeks someone with counseling experience, who can collaborate with external agencies, facilitate access to traditional healing, and generate community health education opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement treatment plans with referring agencies
• Conduct intake, assessment, and discharge planning for clients
• Provide counseling for addiction and concurrent disorder issues




• Make referrals to external treatment programs
• Coordinate access to traditional healing and cultural services

Requirements:
• Bachelor of Social Work or related degree; diploma acceptable with experience
• Registration with Ontario College of Social Workers or equivalent
• Minimum three years of counseling experience
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
• Explicit vulnerable sector check for working with clients
