Serve as a Deputy Sheriff with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice, providing court security and transport across various locations. This relief position requires flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends.
As a Deputy Sheriff 1-2, you will be responsible for maintaining court order, transporting Persons in Custody safely, and ensuring court orders are executed. Your solid communication and decision-making skills will be essential. You will also conduct risk assessments, create detailed reports, and assist with Sheriff Sales.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain security within court environments
• Safely transport detained individuals to various locations
• Execute and comply with court orders efficiently
• Develop risk assessments for cases before the court
• Ensure accurate reporting and record-keeping
Requirements:
• Completion of law enforcement training program
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets
• Experience in relevant law enforcement or security settings
