ResponsibilitiesEnsure a strong job start‑up by understanding project scope, budget, schedule, and crew requirements before commencement.Manage project scheduling, daily work requirements, paperwork, crew staffing, and contract payment items.Coordinate production goals, targets, and scope; troubleshoot issues with the Site Superintendent.Lead the crew in accordance with Conwest's Corporate values; maintain open communication with employees to keep them informed of daily plans and performance expectations.Provide feedback on employee performance to the Site Superintendent and Site HR.Review plans and drawings with the Superintendent to define protected, technically appropriate construction methods and incorporate health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.Perform the pre‑locate program for all existing utilities and ensure the information is disseminated and acted upon.Schedule materials and resources with the Project Superintendent to guarantee timely arrival and set up subcontractors for layout, testing, and equipment trials.Provide transparent instructions and ongoing supervision, training, assistance, feedback, and motivation to the crew to meet schedules while adhering to safety, quality, and environmental expectations.Coordinate with the dispatcher to organize daily job activities and liaise with clients on upcoming requirements.Participate in safety meetings and initiatives; promote safety and quality management practices.Maintain accurate daily paperwork, time sheets,



and other required documentation.Communicate job progress and updates to inspectors and other stakeholders; attend meetings to discuss production, schedule conflicts, and provide toolbox updates.Maintain equipment and report any maintenance issues.Manage materials inventory, including removal from site at job end.QualificationsMinimum five years as a Foreperson or Lead Hand with deep utility/roadworks experience.Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and plans.Hands‑on experience directing, motivating, and supervising crews and managing project execution.Understanding of grades and all aspects of civil construction.Sound knowledge of heavy equipment.Experience with HCSS, Heavy Job, or other field data capture systems is an asset.Proficient communication skills to interact with all stakeholders and the public courteously.Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and demonstrated ability to lead and direct construction teams, analyze issues, and deliver innovative solutions.First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset.Physically fit; able to spend most or all shift standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and working hands‑on outdoors in all weather.Flexible with hours, including overtime and weekend work as needed.Basic understanding and interpretation of job cost reports.Understanding of a union environment and willingness to join CLAC.Current safety tickets and a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract; able to travel across the Lower Mainland.Compensation$42.60 - $48.16 per hour#J-18808-Ljbffr
