OpportunityLeduc County is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Heavy Equipment Operator - Term to join the Thorsby team. Reporting to the Foreman - West, the role involves operating single and tandem axle trucks, graders, front-end loaders, and other medium and heavy weight construction equipment to support the maintenance of county roads and municipal infrastructure. performing various road maintenance functions in the summer and snow and ice removal in the winter months.Services and performs minor maintenance on assigned equipment.Logs hours and complies with the Traffic Safety Act.Performs various labourer duties as required.Hauls and unloads various types of materials, gravel, earth, asphalt, water, and road equipment in designated areas for maintenance and construction as required.Adheres to guidelines as set out in Leduc County’s policies and administrative directives.Accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.Performs related duties as required.What You Need to SucceedMust-HaveA high school diploma.Valid Class 3 Alberta Driver’s License.Three years of trucking experience or tandem axle plow/sand truck or other heavy equipment operation.Nice to HaveClass 1 Alberta Driver’s License.What’s in It for YouWe offer a competitive annual salary of between $31.61 and $39.50.
