METER READER I (TEMPORARY UP TO 11 MONTHS)We are currently hiring one (1) full-time temporary Meter Reader I, for a term of up to 11 months, based out of the Rossdale Water Treatment Plant in Edmonton, AB.WHO CAN APPLYThis opportunity is open to both internal and external applicants. EPCOR employees should apply using their “@epcor.Com” email address to ensure seniority is recognized.WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FORReporting to the Manager, AMI & System Support, the Meter Reader I is responsible for supporting accurate and timely meter data collection across the City of Edmonton. Key accountabilities include:Traveling to various locations throughout Edmonton using an EPCOR or personal vehicleWalking and/or driving assigned routes to collect manual, touchpad, and radio frequency meter readings in all weather conditionsUsing handheld devices, mobile applications, and meter‑reading equipmentGaining access to residential, commercial, and industrial properties to complete readingsIdentifying and reporting site‑specific safety or access issues for follow‑upRecording and updating site information for tracking and documentationProviding a high level of customer service, including leaving notices and responding to general inquiriesContributing to a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reporting near misses,



and following safe work practicesCommunicating progress and performance updates to the ForemanSupporting continuous improvement by identifying challenges and contributing solutionsCompleting weekly time reporting as requiredQUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSGrade 12 diploma (GED or equivalent)Licensing requirements:Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License is required; Class 3Q License is considered an asset6 or fewer demeritsAbility to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR driver’s permitDriver abstract may be requiredPast infractions for unsafe driving may result in non‑selectionReliable transportation to and from various job sites and EPCOR facilitiesAbility to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in all weather conditionsSKILLS & CAPABILITIESStrong organizational skills and ability to plan daily work effectivelyComfort using technology, including mobile devices and Microsoft OutlookAbility to complete required training and adapt to tools and processesStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyASSETS (NOT REQUIRED)Experience in meter reading or similar field‑based rolesFamiliarity with meter reading technology and equipmentWorking knowledge of Word and PowerPointWHAT SETS YOU APARTYou are a reliable and motivated individual who takes initiative and follows through on commitments. A copy of a valid work permit may be required.If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (including criminal, identity, educational, and or credit) and qualified reference checks is required. Some EPCOR positions require an enhanced level of background assessment.A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and will be used as part of the selection criterion.To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions.
