The Adult Learning Centre is a community-based, not for profit adult literacy organization serving Iroquois Falls, Cochrane, and surrounding area. We are seeking a high-energy instructor to work with adult students to provide quality learning opportunities.As a literacy organization whose vision is Equity, Accessibility, and Community, we are looking for an individual who is creative, committed to capacity building and delivering teaching approaches that reflect our mission, values, and mandate, and will follow the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework.Hours of work:Full-Time35 hours/week - Monday to FridayStarting salary:$20 per hourMajor responsibilities:Prepare and administer initial, ongoing and exit assessmentsInstruct subject areas of Communications, Mathematics and Digital TechnologyFacilitate individualized and small group learning based on a learner-centered approachDesign, prepare and deliver progressive and cutting-edge learning activities; use resources andtoolsthat reflect the experiences,



social context and learning goals of studentsDocument student progress, attendance, input and track monthly statisticsParticipate in staff meetings, and contribute to the development of pedagogy and innovative thinkingFacilitate timely assessments, goal setting and learning plansAssist in recruitment of participants, including participation in community outreachAssist in overall programming activities, fundraising, and recognition eventsSkills and experience preferred:Demonstrated teaching and/or tutoring experienceExperience with online trainingExcellent digital skills – proficiency in word processing, Excel, varied internet applications, experience with management systemsStrong lesson planning, facilitation, assessment and problem-solving skillsPatient and understandingExcellent oral, written and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of Skills for Success and the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework#J-18808-Ljbffr
