About the Role
Working within the , this is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week.
Tutors provide academic support to students within the Iniskim Centre, in support of its mandate to increase Indigenous student success at Mount Royal University. Tutors offer knowledge and experience in a number of subjects, including math, biology, chemistry, and physics. Tutors work directly with the Iniskim Centre Student Success Coordinator to confirm a work schedule that is posted online and within the centre.
As part of a team, tutors work collaboratively with staff and fellow tutors to ensure a respectful and safe working environment. Having knowledge about MRU's programs and services that are available to students is essential for discussing academic success and building community on campus.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling times to host tutoring sessions with the Iniskim Centre Student Success Coordinator (5%)
- Meeting with students in-person at the Iniskim Centre to provide tutorial assistance (90%)
- Submitting timesheets through MyMRU biweekly (5%)
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 courses in math and sciences
- Completion of credit-level math, chemistry, and biology is preferred
Salary: $23.64 - $29.89 per hour
