The base salary will be $62,480 - $89,040 per annum. This is achieved through strategic communications planning; the development, production, and management of digital and print publications; social media and e-communications; marketing and branding initiatives; media relations; and audience engagement across the School and University.ResponsibilitiesThe Web Developer (Web Experience Associate) plays a key role in advancing Schulich Medicine & Dentistry’s Phase 2 web revitalization program by designing, building, and maintaining accessible, high-quality web experiences across the School’s digital ecosystem. Focused on front‑end development and Cascade CMS implementation, the role provides the technical expertise required to migrate, optimize, and sustain approximately 100 departmental and program sites while ensuring solid user experience, accessibility compliance, and institutional web standards.



Working collaboratively with Communications & Marketing colleagues, the role helps translate strategic and content goals into effective, user‑centred digital solutions.QualificationsEducation:Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Web Design & Development, Computer Science, Interactive Media, Digital Media, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience:Experience working with a content management system (e.G., Cascade, WordPress, Drupal)Experience supporting or contributing to web migrations or large, decentralized web environments is preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of accessibility standards (AODA/WCAG) and principles for creating inclusive, compliant digital contentUnderstanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles as applied to navigation, content structure, and usabilityFamiliarity with content management systems and web publishing workflows (e.G., Cascade, WordPress)Familiarity with web analytics tools (e.G., Google Analytics, Hotjar, Siteimprove, etc.) and the use of basic performance data to inform technical improvementsStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills related to web performance, compatibility, accessibility, and quality assuranceAbility to apply UX and accessibility principles to translate requirements into practical, user‑centred web solutionsStrong organizational and time‑management skills,



with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a project‑based environmentEffective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and provide practical recommendationsStrong documentation and quality‑control skills, with attention to detail and adherence to established standards and checklistsAbility to work independently within established guidelines while appropriately escalating issues that require consultation or approvalAbility to adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes, and apply learning effectively in a changing technical environmentAbility to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the School to support shared goals and timelinesAbility to provide service‑oriented technical support that builds trust and supports decentralized site ownersWestern Values DiversityThe University invites applications from all qualified individuals.
