About the Role

Working within the , this is a adaptable position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week.

The Iniskim Centre Administrative Assistant is responsible for the administrative duties of the Iniskim Centre, particularly with communications and promotions. The primary task is to prepare and distribute an electronic newsletter twice per month, with information that is gathered and collected from organizations both on and off-campus. Secondary duties include event support, ordering supplies, and representing the Iniskim Centre at academic and cultural events.

The role of Administrative Assistant is critical for maintaining a high standard of professionalism within the Iniskim Centre. As a staff member, they are entrusted by the Indigenous community at MRU to make decisions that support student wellness and academic success.

Responsibilities

- Creating and distributing an online newsletter to inform and support the Indigenous community at Mount Royal University (50%)
- Coordinating with Iniskim Centre staff to plan institutional events such as New Student Orientation, Open House, Pow Wow, Round Dance, and the Indigenous Honouring Ceremonies (25%)
- Attending to administrative needs within the Iniskim Centre, including tasks such as: event promotion, ordering supplies, and maintaining records (15%)
- Preparing and distributing notes and action items from weekly Iniskim Centre staff meetings (10%)

Qualifications





- Two-Year Diploma from a University or Equivalent
- Two Years of Administrative Experience

Salary: $23.64 - $29.89 per hour
