For 15 years, the Canadian Artists Network (CAN), a registered charity, has offered older professional artists information, programs, opportunities and support to ensure they can continue to practice their art. To date, CAN has connected with almost 3,000 older professional artists, in communities across the country, and in every artistic discipline.CAN is looking for an energetic professional who has the skills and tenacity to ensure a small NGO can grow and develop. You are a strong communicator, and have fundraising experience. You have a range of skills, but can learn new ones. You are engaged and engaging. If you are bilingual, that’s a big plus.The Executive Director is the only compensated role at CAN. Reporting to the Board of Directors through its Chair, the Executive Director’s responsibilities include:Finances, Management and CommunicationsEnsuring financial matters are handled properly and expeditiously, including budgeting, working with Auditors, filing government and funder reports.Maintaining and updating website, files, contacts, and all other relevant information.Building and maintaining relationships with senior qualified artists, artists organizations, ASOs and other relevant bodies.Communicating with members, supporters, governments and the public, through newsletters and electronic media.



Advocating on issues concerning older professional artists.FundraisingEnsuring CAN has the resources necessary to achieve its mandate and to continue to expand its reach and activities.Researching potential funders, including governments, foundations, philanthropists, businesses and others.Contacting potential funders, filing applications and following up and reporting.Board LiaisonOrganizing meetings of the Board and its committees, preparing agendas, documents and recommendations as required, minutes of the meetings, etc.ProgrammingWorking with the Board and its committees to develop, implement and review all programs operated by CAN.Take the lead in developing CAN’s Year of the Senior Artist 2030 project, an prospect to showcase the ongoing valuable contributions senior qualified artists continue to make to our society.Maintain and expand the Mentoring Program as resources permit.Develop work plans and budgets for all CAN programs.Organize conferences, seminars, On Salons and related activities.This is a contractual position. The successful candidate will have the core technology to run an organization digitally. The initial time commitment will be 25 hours per week and a minimum fee of $4,000/month.#J-18808-Ljbffr
