CNC Machinist (St Thomas, ON – Onsite)Come build the future with us! If you are eager to learn, thrive in a dynamic setting, and want to make an impact, this opportunity is for you!WHAT YOU WILL DOThe Machinist is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, set up, program, and troubleshooting of machining equipment to ensure production requirements at Masco Canada are met. These duties are to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner ensuring quality of the product and production rates are maintained.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESLead and train CNC operators in set-up, troubleshooting and correcting faultsProgram and edit programs on CNC equipment with various controllersTroubleshoot tooling and equipment issuesMaintain proper production documentationFollow proper setup instructions and procedures (layouts)Read and interpret production blueprintsUse appropriate gauging to produce products to quality standardsReport quality and/or tooling issuesPerform repairs on equipment as requiredEnsure product is running at optimum cycle times according to standardsActively participate and implement continuous improvementCommunicate effectively with service technicians as requiredHEALTH & SAFETYMaintain a safe workplaceWear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floorComply with the company policies and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as requiredReport unsafe conditions as soon as possibleQUALITYFollow all area work instructions and procedures to ensure quality standards are adhered toReport any potentially defective or damaged products or packaging to the quality dept and the supervisorAUTONOMOUS MAINTENANCEPerform autonomous maintenance on equipment as required on a daily basis5SEnsure your work area is maintained at required daily 5S standards (take 5 min at the end of your shift)Support the monthly 5S clean up as requiredQUALIFICATIONAbility to read blueprintsProgramming capability is a must and familiarity with Citizen, Hanwha, Miyano and Hardinge CNC lathes is requiredStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to read, and comprehend various machine manualsKnowledge of grinding, turning, drilling, milling, and heat treatingAbility to use various measuring devicesAbility to use JDE system (Work orders for products)Knowledge of all quality related requirements for inspectionAbility to understand CNC machine programs and fault correctionSwiss-style CNC program, set-up, and operate (Hanwha/Fanuc preferred)EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSO.S.S.D or equivalentValid Certificate of Qualification (Machinist – 429A or equivalent).Certificate of ApprenticeshipMachinist or General Machinist Licenses (Red Seal) is considered an assetWHY JOIN MASCO CANADA?Over a Century of Excellence – With more than 100 years of experience, Masco Canada has established itself as a leader in the building and home improvement industry.Diverse Brand Portfolio – We proudly offer 12+ brands delivering 20,000+ innovative water solutions, shaping the future of plumbing and home improvement.Innovative Solutions – Our commitment to cutting-edge plumbing and water technologies keeps us at the forefront of the industry.Collaborative & Inclusive Culture – We foster an environment where all employees are valued, respected, and empowered to contribute and grow.Opportunities for Growth – We support continuous learning, career development, and professional growth, helping you achieve your full potential.Making an Impact in Our Communities – We believe in giving back and actively supporting initiatives that make a difference in the communities where we live and work.COMPENSATIONHiring Range: $43.48 - $47.83 CAD. The pay rate shown reflects the expected hourly pay for this open position. It does not include any overtime worked. This wage is determined by the CBA.
