Manager, Facility Operations & MaintenanceWaypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.The Director, Hospital Services is currently seeking a Manager, Facility Operations & Maintenance. This role plays a critical part in supporting capital and redevelopment projects, ensuring operational readiness, and optimizing space utilization in collaboration with internal stakeholders and project delivery teams.Shift & Work ScheduleShift Type: Monday‑FridayWork Schedule: 75 hours bi‑weeklyEmployment DetailsEmployment Type: Full Time PermanentSalary: $55.90 - $65.77 per hourQualifications & ExperienceStrong understanding of healthcare facility operations, infrastructure systems, and capital project implementationExpertise in construction project management, including contract administration and consultant/vendor oversightKnowledge of master planning, space planning, and Ministry of Health capital planning and approval processesTechnical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical), building automation systems, and fire/life safety systemsFamiliarity with preventive maintenance programs, lifecycle planning, and facilities asset management principlesUnderstanding of applicable legislation and standards (e.G., Occupational Health and Safety Act, Fire Code, Environmental Protection Act, Operating Engineers Act)Experience with hazardous materials management (e.G., asbestos, refrigerants) and indoor air quality practicesFinancial and operational planning knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controlKnowledge of project management methodologies and operational planning processesProficiency with systems such as CMMS (e.G., I‑MAINT), building automation systems,



and key management systemsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications; familiarity with AutoCAD and project management softwareStrong leadership, labour relations, and performance management principlesExcellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skillsCollege diploma or university degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Operations, Construction Project Management, Architecture, or a related field (Required)Minimum 3 years of progressive management experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting (Required)Advanced progressive experience in healthcare facilities and infrastructure project planning and implementation (Required)Completion of CHA management courses or equivalent, Project Management designation or relevant Trade certification (Preferred)Demonstrated experience managing capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades in a complex environmentProven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, consultants, and internal staffExperience developing and implementing preventative maintenance and lifecycle asset management plansStrong financial acumen with experience developing, managing, and forecasting operational and capital budgetsAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously while meeting timelines and budget targetsExperience overseeing facilities compliance programs, including fire safety, life safety, and regulatory inspectionsDemonstrated ability to lead staff, support engagement, and manage performance, including handling grievances and labour relations mattersExperience with contract development, vendor management, and service delivery oversightCommitment to health, safety, and regulatory compliance in a hospital environmentBenefitsA comprehensive and generous benefit plan including dental coverage, paid holidays, paid vacation days, sick days, and extended health benefitsParticipation in the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)Career development and mentorship opportunitiesRelocation support program for eligible staffAccess to Waypoint’s Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP)#J-18808-Ljbffr
