Data Quality Issue Management LeadApex Systems, a global IT services firm, is hiring a Data Quality Issue Management (DQI) Manager for a major bank. This is a 6‑month contract position with the possibility to extend, and will be based in downtown Toronto with a hybrid work arrangement (one day a week onsite).Job DescriptionThe DQI Manager is responsible for the governance, validation, and reporting of Data Quality Issue Management (DQIM) activities across IT Asset Management controls after DQI submission. The role ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of mitigation plans, validates issue resolution through evidence and system data, and provides data‑driven insights to improve control effectiveness and prevent recurrence.Core ResponsibilitiesDQIM Governance – Open Items OversightReview and assess mitigation plans for completeness, clarity, and feasibility:Validate that sufficient detail existsConfirm a clear line of sight to resolutionRecommend actions to drive progress or escalation where requiredMonitor and govern target resolution dates:Ensure MCOs maintain current and realistic timelinesTrack and report frequency of date changes to identify risk or lack of progressAssess overall health of open DQIMs:Validate that regular updates are being providedIdentify stale or inactive items and drive follow‑upDQIM Closure Validation & Quality AssuranceValidate closed DQIMs through multi‑source verification:Compare against source reports, latest outputs, and ServiceNow production dataConfirm discrepancies have been fully remediatedAssess sufficiency of resolution evidence provided by MCOs:Confirm evidence aligns with reported resolutionIdentify and flag cases where the issue persists despite submitted evidencePartner with Enablement to:Determine if Incident (INC) creation is requiredEscalate unresolved or systemic issuesRe‑open or re‑issue DQIMs where resolution is incomplete or invalidMetrics, Reporting & Trend Analysis:Produce and maintain DQIM statistical reporting,
including:Logged items (new issues)On‑hold items (including documented rationale)Closed items with re‑issue/re‑open ratesOpen items with aging analysisMetrics aggregated by control (e.G., CTRL‑xxx)Perform trend and root cause analysis:Identify recurring discrepancies or systemic issuesHighlight control weaknesses or process inefficienciesProvide actionable observations and recommendations:Propose preventative measures to reduce future DQIM issuanceRecommend alternative approaches where recurring issues existDeliver insights in formats suitable for leadership, audit, and governance reportingOperational Execution & Stakeholder Support:Perform regular data updates and reconciliation activitiesSupport dashboard migration to Jira, ensuring continuity of reporting and visibilityFacilitate collaboration with MCOs and SMEs:Conduct review sessions to assess DQIMs and mitigation plansProvide guidance on remediation strategies and plan developmentParticipate in governance forums (huddles, report reviews, working sessions)Manage DQIM intake and communication channels:Monitor shared mailbox dailyRespond to inquiries and provide timely updatesControl Alignment & Procedure Ownership:Support IO-2 procedure executionAct as a control enabler, ensuring:Accurate tracking of DQIMs and INCsAlignment between issue management, reporting, and control executionCo‑manage DQIM and Incident inventory with Enablement teams:Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely response managementKey Skills & CompetenciesTechnical & Analytical SkillsProficiency in Data Governance tools, Tracker 2.0, and JiraServiceNow querying and data validationExtract, reconcile,
and validate data across multiple systemsStrong analytical capability for trend identification and root cause analysisDomain KnowledgeIT Asset Management controls and processesData quality frameworks and discrepancy managementIncident management processes (incl.
