The Opportunity:

We are looking for Tutors for our students in the Junior School, JK - Grade 6. With the ability to build caring rapport with children, you will support students in literacy, math and other areas as needed. Tutoring takes place after school on campus at Branksome Hall.

As a Tutor you will have experience working with students in the primary and junior years, and be familiar with age appropriate activities and strategies to motivate and inspire young learners. Tutors should be comfortable and confident interacting with both children and parents.

The hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.to 5:30 p.m. each Monday to Thursday and 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays, when school is in session.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Work one on one with students providing support in literacy, mathematics, and a range of subject areas;





Plan and prepare for tutoring sessions based on student learning needs

Communicate with parents and caregivers about their child and their progress

Liaise with teachers as required to ensure alignment and provide progress updates

Candidate Profile:

Experience working with children in a learning environment.

Experience leading children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting is a strong asset

Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification or equivalent degree with Primary/ Junior qualifications, Registered Early Childhood Education (RECE) designation, or equivalent combination of education and experience is highly preferred;

A proven ability to have a caring rapport with students;

Ability to motivate and inspire students

Possess strong oral and written communication skills;

Accept responsibility and is self-motivated;

A positive attitude and ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour;

Alignment with Branksome Hall’s mission, vision and values.

Hourly Rate: $85.00/hour
