This position can be based in either our Burnaby or Edmonton office.The Senior Casulaty claims adjuster is primarily responsible for handling minor to complex casualty claims, including residential and commercial liability, bodily injury and property damage losses, auto bodily injury, and products-completed operations hazards.The role involves providing excellent customer service throughout the process, including proper investigation of the loss, evaluation of coverage, negotiation of the claim, and its ultimate settlement within the parameters of the policy wording, while adhering to the standards and guidelines set forth in the Claims Manual.The adjuster will also provide direction to independent adjusters and lawyers, as required, throughout the claims process.Main Responsibilities
Determine coverage, and investigate, negotiate, and settle claimsMaintain timely and effective communication with insureds, third parties, adjusters, and legal counsel to ensure fair and equitable settlementsCommunicate clearly and concisely with all involved partiesParticipate in mediations, hearings,



and trials (occasional travel may be required)Stay current on relevant case law and coverage trendsMaintain regular communication and information sharing across departments as it relates to riskQualifications and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar roleStrong analytical and intuitive thinking skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management, prioritization, organizational, and planning skillsProven problem-solving abilities;
self-motivated and ableto work independently while collaborating in a team environmentGood working knowledge of the legal and arbitration systemsSolid understanding of anatomy and physiologyCIP designation or equivalent is considered an assetKnowledge of Alberta Auto and Accident Advantages regulations is an assetWhat do we offer?
