The role

As a Mold Setter, you play a key role in supporting efficient and safe production operations. You are responsible for the installation, setup, and teardown of injection molds and auxiliary equipment, ensuring smooth production transitions while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

What You'll Do

- Install, set up, and tear down injection molds, including insert changes, nozzle tip cleaning, and setup of fixtures, jigs, and auxiliary equipment
- Safely operate overhead cranes and complete required inspections and documentation
- Maintain assigned machines and support production uptime
- Coordinate mold changes with the production schedule and Shift Supervisor
- Review daily production schedules and communicate discrepancies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S standards
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with plant shutdowns, mold preservation, and equipment maintenance activities
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks to move molds and materials
- Support material handling activities as required
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of sprue pickers and robotic equipment
- Follow PPE requirements, safety procedures, and lockout/tagout practices
- Work rotating shifts and weekends as required

What You'll Bring

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills




- Experience in a manufacturing environment; plastics manufacturing experience is an asset
- Ability to use torque wrenches and follow specified torque requirements
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification for overhead cranes, forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks
- Ability to distinguish colors for secure operation and product identification
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

- Forklift Operator’s License (training to be provided)
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment (plastics experience is an asset)
- Ability to read and follow work orders, BOMs, and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on production setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety, quality, and cleanliness
