SAKU, a Japanese Tonkatsu restaurant with locations in Vancouver and Toronto, is looking for a Meat Prep / Central Kitchen Staff member for our new Mississauga location, scheduled to open in October 2026.
No previous meat prep experience is required. Full training will be provided.

SAKU Edward

Before the Mississauga location opens, approximately one month of training will be provided at SAKU Edward starting in September.
[Main Responsibilities]
The main responsibility of the Central Kitchen is to prepare, portion, and package pork, chicken, shrimp, and other ingredients according to SAKU standards for distribution to our restaurant locations.
This position does not involve breaking down whole cuts of meat from scratch. The primary responsibility is to work with meat that has already been initially processed, then trim, portion, and package it according to SAKU's portion sizes and quality standards.
Main duties include:
- Cutting and portioning pork and chicken
- Preparing shrimp and other ingredients
- Packaging and labeling food products
- Preparing products for restaurant delivery
- Organizing and managing inventory
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the work area
- After the Mississauga location opens, delivering prepared products to SAKU Edward after completing the daily prep work
Previous experience is not required. Full training will be provided for all necessary tasks.
[Delivery Responsibilities]
This position also includes delivering prepared ingredients from the Mississauga Central Kitchen to SAKU Edward in Downtown Toronto approximately four times per week.
On delivery days, the typical schedule will involve prep work from 8:00 AM to approximately 2:00 PM, followed by delivery to SAKU Edward.
Deliveries will mainly consist of meat and other ingredients required by the SAKU Edward location. As the position involves loading and unloading products, applicants should be comfortable with physically active work and some lifting.
A company vehicle will be provided for deliveries. Depending on where you live, the vehicle return arrangement can be adjusted as follows:
1. If you live near the Mississauga location:
- Deliver prepared products from Mississauga to SAKU Edward in Downtown Toronto.
- After completing the delivery, drive the company vehicle back to the Mississauga location.
- Return the vehicle in Mississauga and finish your shift there.
2. If you live near Downtown Toronto / SAKU Edward:
- Complete prep work in Mississauga and deliver the prepared products to SAKU Edward.
- Return the company vehicle at SAKU Edward and finish your shift in Downtown Toronto.
- For your next shift, you may use the company vehicle from Downtown Toronto to commute to the Mississauga location.
Therefore, whether you live closer to Mississauga or Downtown Toronto, the vehicle return location can be arranged based on your commuting needs.

- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid work permit/visa for at least 6 months
- Must have a valid driver's licence
- Food Handler Certificate
