Job Overview

We are seeking a Temporary Activity Director to lead engaging recreational programs and activities for residents in a senior care environment. Duties

- Develop and implement a variety of engaging activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care requirements, including those with dementia or disabilities
- Coordinate special events, outings, and themed programs to promote socialization and community involvement
- Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to assess residents’ needs and adapt activities accordingly
- Maintain a protected environment during all activities by following established safety protocols
- Document participation and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and improve future offerings




- Foster positive relationships with residents by encouraging participation and providing personalized attention
- Manage activity supplies, equipment, and materials to ensure readiness for all planned events

Experience

- Prior experience of Activity Director/Recreational Aid/LEC and working with seniors in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care and caregiving techniques
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents, staff, families, and community partners
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and lead group activities with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Familiarity with safety standards related to recreational programming in senior care environments
