Bayview Construction Ltd. is a growing local Winnipeg-based construction company providing heavy construction services including road building, sewer and water, crushing, and a full range of municipal services throughout Manitoba.
We are currently expanding our operations and are accepting resumes for the following positions:

Asphalt Paver Operator/Transfer Machine Operator

Responsibilities

- Operate the asphalt paver, controlling its speed, steering, and material flow.
- Maintain a consistent speed to ensure uniform mat thickness and cycling of trucks in a smooth and efficient manner.
- Communicate with the dump person and screed operators to ensure a steady supply of materials and consistency of mat placement.
- Signal asphalt trucks to move their truck and trailer as needed for material supply.

Screed Operator

Responsibilities

- Operate paver screed, to lay an asphalt mat at the specified thickness and grade as required.
- Control the amount of material being placed to ensure material yield quantities are as expected.
- Ensure proper joint construction between paver pulls.
- Monitor the asphalt mat's surface for consistency.

Roller Operator

Responsibilities

- Operate rubber tire, smooth drum, and combination drum rollers to achieve the required density of the asphalt mat.
- Establish and maintain a consistent rolling pattern to remove air voids and roller marks from the asphalt mat, to ensure a smooth and uniform finish.
- Monitor the temperature of the asphalt mat to ensure it is rolled at the optimal temperature for effective compaction for the given roller (breakdown,



intermediate, finishing).

Asphalt Raker/Labourer

Responsibilities

- Using an asphalt rake, blend and level any seams in the mat, reducing visible marks and seams in the asphalt surface.
- Measure the width of the road using measuring tape, and string line the boundaries of the road surface as a guide for the paver.
- Shovel asphalt mix into areas inaccessible to paving machines and compact mix using rakes and hand tampers.
- Operate equipment, such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, tampers, and skid steer when needed.

Qualifications

- Minimum two years related asphalt and road construction experience is an asset
- Willingness to work shift work, weekends, overtime, and extended hours as required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team setting
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license
