Join our dynamic team as a Fish and Reptile Department Supervisor, where you will lead the care, organization, and management of our aquatic and reptilian collections. Duties
- Supervise daily activities within the fish and reptile departments, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of animal care
- Oversee the feeding, cleaning, and habitat maintenance for a variety of aquatic and reptilian species, ensuring their well-being
- Collect data on animal health, behavior, and habitat conditions to support ongoing health monitoring and exhibit improvements
- Train and mentor staff members on proper handling techniques, safety protocols, and species-specific requirements
- Manage inventory levels of supplies such as food, medications, and habitat materials; place orders as needed
- Enforce safety procedures including heavy lifting protocols to prevent injuries during maintenance or transport tasks
- Assist with educational programs by providing accurate information about species and conservation efforts to visitors
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working with aquatic animals or reptiles in a professional setting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling tanks, equipment, or supplies
- Basic math skills for inventory management and data collection tasks
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate daily routines and maintain detailed records
- Excellent communication skills to lead a team and engage with visitors effectively
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends or holidays as needed
- Knowledge of animal health standards, safety regulations, and habitat requirements

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
