Tiptop Transport is a growing transportation company based in Regina, Saskatchewan, operating a fleet of trucks and trailers for long-haul transportation across Canada and the United States.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Truck Mechanic / Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, and road-ready.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, air brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on trucks and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair engine-related issues, including diesel engine systems.
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and other routine maintenance.
- Inspect and repair braking systems, including air brakes.
- Inspect and repair suspension, steering, wheel-end, and trailer components.
- Diagnose electrical and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Troubleshoot warning lights, fault codes, and engine/aftertreatment system issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on emissions and aftertreatment systems, including DEF/SCR systems.
- Inspect tires, wheels, lights, belts, hoses, batteries, and other safety-related components.
- Perform trailer inspections and repairs as required.
- Complete emergency and roadside repairs when required.
- Ensure trucks are properly maintained and safe before being dispatched for long-haul operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
- Communicate major mechanical issues and repair requirements to management.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, company safety procedures, and applicable transportation regulations.
- Keep the shop, tools, and work area clean and organized.




- Assist with other maintenance-related duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience working as a Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanic, Truck Technician, or Diesel Mechanic is preferred.
- Experience working on Class 8 trucks and trailers is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty truck systems.
- Experience with Freightliner, Volvo trucks is an asset.
- Knowledge of air brake systems and heavy-duty braking components.
- Experience diagnosing electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience with engine diagnostic software and scan tools.
- Knowledge of DEF, DPF, SCR, and other aftertreatment systems is an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and understand service manuals and technical information.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset.
- Red Seal Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician certification is an asset but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in the transportation/trucking industry is strongly preferred.
