Job Location: Highway 7 and Jane area. Less than 10 minutes walk from Vaughn Metropolitan Center TTC Subway station.

Position Summary:
To rewind DC motor armatures, perform electrical and mechanical testing, and use measuring instruments and testing equipment to support armature analysis, repair, and rewinding processes.

Responsibilities

- Perform mechanical measurements using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.
- Read, interpret, and apply armature and stator winding diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Rewind DC motor armatures to original manufacturer or engineered specifications.
- Strip, prepare, insulate, and rebuild armatures and stators using approved repair methods.
- Perform electrical and mechanical inspections throughout the repair process.
- Conduct electrical testing using appropriate test equipment to verify winding integrity and insulation quality.
- Operate winding machines, brazing machines, and other production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.




- Maintain accurate production records and complete required inspection documentation.
- Follow written work instructions, engineering specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 6S principles.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Support the organization's Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Attend in-class and on-the-job training as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Minimum High School Diploma or Technical School Education (In-class and on-the-job training is provided).
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering Technician is an asset
- 2 to 5 years of experience in armature/stator rewinding or any related experience in the electromechanical repair industry is an asset.
- Experience repairing industrial motors and generators is considered an asset.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, winding diagrams, and repair specifications.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical documentation and operate production equipment safely.
- Understanding of winding theory, insulation systems, and electrical testing methods.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.

Hourly Rate: $20-$28 (Based on the interview, skills and experiences)
