Fountainhead Mechanical is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Journeyman Sheet Metal Service Technician to join our commercial HVAC service team in Calgary.

This is a service-based position focused on diagnosing, repairing, modifying, replacing, and improving existing commercial HVAC and air-distribution systems. This is not primarily a production or new-construction sheet metal position.

The successful candidate will work on a variety of commercial service projects, including ductwork repairs, airflow improvements, equipment replacements, MUA and RTU replacements, system modifications, A/C installations and small retrofit installations.

Qualified technicians with proven commercial air-conditioning installation experience may earn up to $54.00 per hour.

A Service-Based Position

This role is ideal for an experienced sheet metal technician who enjoys variety, troubleshooting, customer interaction, and completing high-quality work in occupied commercial buildings.

The position includes:

- Commercial HVAC service and repair work
- Ductwork modifications and replacements
- Airflow and air-distribution troubleshooting
- Commercial air-conditioning installations
- Equipment changeouts and retrofit projects
- Small commercial installations
- Work in occupied and operational customer facilities
- Coordination with HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, controls technicians, and office staff

What You Will Do

- Diagnose and repair commercial ductwork and air-distribution issues
- Inspect existing HVAC systems and recommend practical repair or modification solutions
- Fabricate, assemble, install, repair, and modify sheet metal components




- Install and repair ductwork, fittings, transitions, plenums, curb adapters, and equipment connections
- Complete commercial air-conditioning equipment installations
- Complete installation of furnaces with split air-conditioning systems.
- Complete equipment replacements, retrofit projects, and small commercial installations
- Troubleshoot airflow, air leakage, noise, vibration, and distribution issues
- Repair damaged or poorly installed ductwork and sheet metal components
- Measure, lay out, fabricate, and install custom sheet metal fittings
- Complete sealing, weatherproofing, insulation, and finishing work when required
- Install rooftop units, air handlers, make-up air units, exhaust systems, and associated sheet metal components
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation
- Complete accurate service documentation and digital reports
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, dispatch, office staff, and teammates
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
- Follow applicable codes, safety requirements, and company procedures
- Represent Fountainhead Mechanical's culture and values on every customer site

Who We Are Looking For

- Alberta Journeyperson Sheet Metal Worker certification or an equivalent recognized trade qualification
- Strong commercial sheet metal and HVAC experience
- Experience completing HVAC service, repair, retrofit, and modification work
- Strong knowledge of commercial ductwork and air-distribution systems
- Ability to diagnose airflow, leakage, noise, vibration, and installation issues
- Ability to measure, lay out, fabricate, and install custom sheet metal components
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to continue learning
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Valid driver's licence and a clean, insurable driving record
- Ability to reliably commute to Calgary or relocate before starting work

Commercial Air-Conditioning Installation Experience

Qualified applicants with proven commercial air-conditioning installation experience may be eligible for the top wage of $54.00 per hour.

This experience should include:

- Proven experience installing commercial air-conditioning and HVAC equipment
- Experience completing rooftop unit,



make-up air unit and air-handler installations
- Experience with equipment changeouts and commercial retrofit projects
- Ability to measure, fabricate, and install equipment transitions, plenums, curb adapters, and duct connections
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, and installation instructions
- Strong knowledge of commercial ductwork and air-distribution systems
- Ability to independently plan and complete high-quality commercial HVAC installation work
- Experience coordinating installations with other trades, customers, and project teams
