Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform a variety of diagnostics and repairs on industrial equipment, including conveyors, compactors, and balers, ensuring that our infrastructure operates safely and reliably to support our facility operations.

Requirements:

- Licensing/Education: Registered Millwright Apprentice (or working towards trade certification).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a maintenance or industrial setting (waste/recycling industry preferred).
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; experience working with waste bins, compactors, balers, or similar mechanical equipment is an asset.
- Welding Skills: Demonstrated experience completing minor welding repairs and fabrication.
- Safety Commitment: Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Problem Solving:



Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on bins, compaction systems, and baler equipment.
- Repair & Diagnostics: Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues related to truck bins and plant equipment.
- Operational Readiness: Assist in maintaining operational readiness and uptime of recycling and waste handling machinery.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and update service records, inspection logs, and equipment history; complete daily reporting and tracking of all maintenance and repairs.
- Planning & Coordination: Work collaboratively with operations and fleet teams to coordinate downtime and maintenance schedules.
- Parts Procurement: Identify parts and materials required for repairs and liaise with procurement for sourcing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in strict compliance with GFL’s safety standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Additional Duties: Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
