Our Team is growing! We are looking for an Estimator!

The Estimator is responsible for analyzing costs, preparing estimates, and developing proposals for various projects. The Estimator supports the Sales Teams and is responsible for the completion of estimates and proposals in a timely and efficient manner. A solid understanding of automation systems, jigs & check fixtures, and tooling in the automotive and other industries is beneficial for this role.

Responsibilities:

- Estimating and Cost Management: Prepare and analyse estimates for time, cost, materials, and labour. Calculate expenses such as labour hours, material costs, and machine time to provide competitive quotes. Track costs based on RFQs and maintain a database with indices, exchange rates, and productivity metrics.
- Proposal and Reporting: Draft budgets, quotations, and proposals for review and submission. Archive estimating documents post-completion and report on KPIs to measure performance.
- Support Functions: Assist with technical training, respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, assist with document management
- Travel Requirements: Travel may be required to customer sites,



tradeshows and other industry events, therefor all travel documents (licence, passport, etc.) must remain current and valid
- Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous experience in technical sales, applications engineering, estimating, project engineering, automation, tooling, or custom manufacturing
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience with custom automation, assembly equipment, fixtures, tooling, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical and manufacturing principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Effective organizational and communication skills, especially in a team environment, to convey information in a concise manner and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to interpret production drawings, BOMs, and manage multiple projects and jobs
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar is an asset
- Proficiency with MS Project, MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
