Job Summary

Mercato Fresh is looking for a dependable and energetic Prepared Foods Cook to join our team. This hands-on position involves preparing, cooking, packaging, displaying a variety of hot and cold prepared foods while maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, food safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook hot and cold foods according to recipes and established procedures
- Portion, package, label, date, and rotate prepared food products
- Stock and maintain hot tables, cold counters, grab-and-go areas, and other displays
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Follow safe food handling, temperature control, sanitation, and FIFO procedures
- Safely operate department equipment after appropriate training
- Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and production areas
- Monitor product freshness and quality and remove products that do not meet standards
- Assist with receiving, stocking, inventory rotation,



and waste control
- Complete opening, closing, and general department duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Previous food service, grocery, kitchen, or cooking experience is an asset
- Safe Food Handler certification is an asset
- Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and detail
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Reliable with good communication and customer service skills
- Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Pay: $20.00-$29.00 per hour
