About the Role
As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play an important role in providing safe, high-quality, and personalized pharmaceutical care to our patients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Dispensing prescriptions accurately and safely
- Providing medication counselling and answering patient questions
- Conducting medication reviews and identifying opportunities to optimize therapy
- Working closely with patients, caregivers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Supporting the unique medication needs of our geriatric population
- Providing compassionate care to patients of all ages
- Monitoring drug therapy, adherence, and potential drug-related problems
- Supporting immunizations and other clinical pharmacy services, as applicable
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards
- Contributing to a positive, welcoming, and professional pharmacy environment
- Participating in day-to-day pharmacy operations and supporting the pharmacy team
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a pharmacist who is:
- Licensed and in good standing with the applicable Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Committed to providing excellent patient care
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
- An excellent communicator who enjoys interacting with patients
- Comfortable working with patients of different ages and healthcare needs
- Interested in clinical pharmacy practice and medication optimization
- Compassionate and respectful toward patients, caregivers, and colleagues
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Experience in community pharmacy and/or geriatric care is an asset, but we are also open to pharmacists who are eager to grow their skills and become part of our team.
Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately while providing comprehensive counseling to patients on proper usage, potential side effects, and medication interactions
- Proper documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and review individualized medication therapy plans for community and geriatric patients
- Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting therapy as needed in accordance with medical directives and best practices
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including proper documentation of medication administration and patient records
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication safety, storage, and adherence strategies tailored to elderly and community populations
- Maintain thorough knowledge of medical terminology, drug interactions, and current pharmaceutical guidelines relevant to hospital and outpatient care settings
- Assist in medication inventory management, including ordering, storage, and expiration checks to optimize safety and efficiency
- Organizing and checking blister packs
- Vaccine administration
- Maintain clean and safe environment in the pharmacy
Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in patient care within community pharmacy or geriatric settings, emphasizing medication management for older adults
- Familiarity with billing and providing best service for health care
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams, patients, and caregivers
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving clinical situations while maintaining meticulous attention to detail

Pay: $49.00-$52.00 per hour
