Join our dynamic team as a Powerline Technician Apprentice 3rd or 4th year along with knowledge of operating the Digger Derrick and bucket truck operations, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and installing HV infrastructure, Underground Infrastructure amongst other duties as assigned. This position required experience in working with and operating Digger Derrick(RBD), Bucket truck, HV tooling, reading and understanding construction prints, switching diagrams, terminations, climb wood poles, and have 3-5 years experience in the Powerline Distribution construction field. This position is very universal as you will be assigned duties for both Underground and Overhead Powerline Construction, work in conjunction with the Directional drilling crew, and Hydrovac. Duties

- Assist experienced powerline technicians in installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground electrical distribution lines
- Operate digger derricks, bucket trucks, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist with line stringing, pole setting, and equipment installation
- Perform rigging tasks for lifting and positioning heavy components with precision




- Conduct visual inspections of electrical lines and equipment to identify potential issues or hazards
- Support low voltage wiring projects and ensure proper grounding and connections
- Follow safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment

Qualifications

- exception knowledge and experience operating the RBD(Digger Derrick), bucket truck, pull a pole trailer, load and off load project materials, mentor other apprentices
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging equipment
- Experience with reading and comprehending Distribution Construction prints, knowledge and understanding of all powerline OH and UG Powerline distribution Construction
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and work at heights safely
- Willingness to learn new skills related to all distribution powerline construction and maintenance
- Basic understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and electrical work
- Valid Alberta driver’s license, Class 1 or 3 with minimum of 3 -5 years of driving and operating experience

Pay: Up to $48.00 per hour
