DMSE is hiring a Survey Crew Chief to run a one-person field crew focused primarily on legal (boundary/property) surveys. You'll work independently in the field, operating GPS and total station equipment to gather the data our projects depend on. Prior survey experience is an asset but not required — we're willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Independently run a one-person survey crew with minimal supervision
- Conduct legal surveys, including property boundary work
- Operate and maintain GPS and total station survey equipment
- Work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
- Perform physically demanding fieldwork (walking uneven ground, carrying equipment, etc.)
- Accurately record and report field data
Qualifications
- Survey experience is an asset, but not required — full training provided
- Familiarity with property boundaries is helpful
- Comfortable and reliable working outdoors in all conditions
- Physically able to perform demanding field work
- Able to work independently and exercise sound judgment unsupervised
- Valid driver's license
