Port Moody Family

Canada

A private family in Port Moody is looking for an experienced, reliable and caring Live-In Caregiver / In-Home Support Worker to join their household and provide support for their 18-year-old son who has autism and epilepsy. His epilepsy is well managed with medication. He is a kind and loving young man with a warm personality. He enjoys walks, spending time with his family and being part of his daily routines.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, is patient and compassionate, and takes pride in providing thoughtful, consistent care. The caregiver will become an important part of the family's support system, helping with daily routines, personal care, meals, activities and light household tasks.

The family travels for work, so the caregiver must be comfortable working independently and maintaining the family's established routines when parents are away.

A loving Goldendoodle is also part of the household, so the caregiver must be comfortable living with and occasionally assisting with a family dog.

This is a maternity leave position for approximately 12–18 months, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.

Hours & Living Arrangements

The regular workweek begins Sunday at 5:00 p.m. and ends Friday at 5:00 p.m.

Scheduled working hours are:

- 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The position provides 40 hours of paid working time per week.

There is generally some quiet time during the evening when he is settled into his routine and requires supervision but limited active assistance. During these periods, the caregiver is welcome to read, study or enjoy other quiet personal activities while remaining available to provide support if needed.

The caregiver will have their own private bedroom, provided at no cost, and access to household amenities throughout the week.

Responsibilities

The caregiver will provide day-to-day support while helping create a safe, comfortable and positive home environment.

- Assist with personal care and hygiene, including toileting, showering, dental care and skin care
