Prepper

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Coatings Prepper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing metal parts, equipment, and surfaces prior to coating, painting, or lining applications.

Responsibilities

- Prepare steel and metal surfaces for industrial coating applications.
- Perform cleaning, degreasing, sanding, and other surface preparation as required.
- Mask and protect areas that are not to be coated.
- Assist with abrasive blasting and other surface preparation activities when required.
- Clean and prepare parts before they enter the coating or paint process.
- Inspect prepared surfaces to ensure they meet required cleanliness and preparation standards.
- Move, load, unload, and organize parts within the shop.
- Assist painters and coating technicians with material handling and job setup.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Properly use hand tools, grinders, sanders, and other preparation equipment.
- Follow company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Complete assigned work according to job specifications and production schedules.




- Perform other general shop duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in industrial painting, coatings, sandblasting, metal preparation, or a similar shop environment is an asset.
- Experience using grinders, sanders, and basic hand and power tools is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working for extended periods.
- Positive attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed in an industrial shop environment and may involve exposure to dust, noise, paint/coating materials, and varying temperatures. Appropriate PPE will be provided and must be worn as required.
