Job Title: Cook – LOCAL ONLY (Long-Term Care)
Location: Gibsons, British Columbia
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (2–3 Months, with Possible Extension)
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook for a contract opportunity in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility located in Gibsons, BC. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about preparing nutritious, high-quality meals and understands the importance of specialized diets in a care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with LTC dietary standards and menus
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and meets sanitation guidelines
- Modify food textures and prepare texture-modified diets as required (e.g., minced, pureed)
- Prepare and manage thickened fluids according to prescribed dietary needs
- Work collaboratively with dietary aides and healthcare staff
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering as needed

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Previous experience working as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare or LTC setting




- Strong understanding of texture-modified diets and thickened fluids
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices
- Ability to work independently and in a quick-paced environment
- Food Safe certification (or equivalent)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- TB test and up-to-date immunization
