Outdoor Operations Lead

Tawatinaw Valley Ski Club is looking for an experienced and dependable Outdoor Operations Lead to oversee the day-to-day outdoor operations of our ski hill throughout the winter season.

This hands-on leadership position is responsible for coordinating snowmaking, grooming, hill maintenance, equipment, and outdoor facilities while ensuring the hill remains safe, operational, and ready for guests. The successful candidate will lead and support seasonal operations staff and respond quickly to changing weather and operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee all outdoor ski hill operations throughout the winter season.
- Coordinate daily snowmaking, grooming, and hill maintenance activities.
- Monitor snow, weather, and hill conditions and adjust operations as required.
- Ensure lifts, snowmaking equipment, grooming equipment, and outdoor facilities are protected and operational.
- Conduct regular inspections of outdoor areas, equipment, and facilities.
- Identify maintenance and safety concerns and ensure they are addressed promptly.
- Lead, train, support, and coordinate seasonal outdoor operations staff.
- Assign daily tasks and provide direction to staff based on operational priorities.
- Work closely with management and other departments to coordinate daily hill operations.
- Respond to changing weather, snow conditions, equipment issues, and other operational needs throughout the season.
- Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records as required.
- Follow and promote all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with emergency response and incident management when required.
- Perform other duties related to ski hill operations as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience in ski hill,



snowmaking, grooming, maintenance, construction, or outdoor operations is an asset.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in changing conditions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to safely operate and work around heavy equipment and machinery.
- Comfortable working outdoors in winter conditions for extended periods.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying hours as required by weather and operational conditions.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset.
- First Aid certification and relevant equipment certifications are an asset.

Working Conditions

- Outdoor work in cold, snowy, and changing weather conditions.

- Schedule and hours will vary based on weather, snowmaking requirements, hill conditions, and operational needs.

Compensation

Competitive wage based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
