Sales Associate – Gas Station & Convenience Store

Position: Sales Associate / Customer Service Associate
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our gas station and convenience store team. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, operate the cash register, maintain store cleanliness, and assist customers with fuel, convenience store products, lottery, tobacco, and other services.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide professional and friendly customer service to all customers.
- Operate the cash register and process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately.
- Assist customers with fuel purchases and convenience store products.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and store operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
- Receive, check, and organize merchandise deliveries.
- Replenish shelves and maintain attractive product displays.
- Sell lottery and tobacco products in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Verify customer identification for age-restricted products when required.
- Follow all applicable policies and procedures regarding alcohol sales.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers and coworkers.
- Report any discrepancies, safety concerns, equipment issues,



or customer incidents to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Smart Serve certification is required, or candidates must be willing and able to obtain it.
- Previous gas station, convenience store, retail, or customer service experience is an asset.
- Previous experience with lottery and tobacco sales is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic cash-handling and mathematical skills.
- Reliable, punctual, responsible, and professional.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Availability to work versatile shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
