- Schedule: Full time
- Pay: $100k-$110k DOE + Benefits

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Controls & Automation Specialist to support a high-volume Tier-1 manufacturing operation producing powertrain components for large diesel engines.
This is a hands-on role focused on automation, PLCs, robotics, CNC equipment, electrical systems, and equipment improvement. You will help launch recent equipment, improve existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and support Maintenance when needed.
What You'll Do
- Lead controls and automation projects from start to finish.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, servos, drives, and safety systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Support robotics, conveyors, material handling, and assembly equipment.
- Improve equipment uptime, efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Support new equipment installations and production launches.
- Work with Engineering, Maintenance, vendors, and contractors.
- Troubleshoot and support CNC equipment and controls.
- Develop electrical circuits and control panels.
- Ensure equipment meets safety and company standards.
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Controls & Automation experience in manufacturing.
- Education: Degree or diploma in Controls, Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
- Strong hands-on PLC, HMI, electrical, and automation experience.
- Experience with robotics, conveyors, sensors, vision systems, presses, torque systems, and traceability equipment.
- Experience with Fanuc and Siemens CNC controls.
- Knowledge of servos, drives, industrial networks, and machine safety.
- Strong understanding of CNC mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication.
- Experience designing electrical circuits and control panels.
- Ability to troubleshoot and modify CNC programs is a plus.
- Experience with SCADA is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Manufacturing experience in automotive, machining, heavy manufacturing, or high-volume production is preferred.
