Security Officer (AST & OFA2 Required) | Full-Time | Victoria, BC
Join a Growing Security Team
Western Canada Security is looking for professional, confident, and customer-focused Security Officers to join our team in Victoria.
We are currently hiring for full-time positions at busy commercial properties where officers play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for tenants, customers, visitors, and staff.

What You'll Do
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence
- Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the property
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to the public
- Monitor site activity and identify safety and security concerns
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies
- Complete accurate incident reports and daily activity reports
- Communicate effectively with property management, emergency services, and security supervisors
- Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation when required
- Enforce site rules and policies in a professional manner
- Respond to medical and security incidents in accordance with site procedures
Required Qualifications
- Valid BC Security Worker License
- AST (Advanced Security Training) Certification
- OFA Level 2 Certification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous security experience
- Experience working in commercial and public-facing environments
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills
- Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Comfortable conducting foot patrols for approximately 6-7 hours during an 8-hour shift
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to respond quickly to incidents when required

- 8-hour shifts

Compensation
$24.00 - $29.00 per hour
