DCT Paving & Concrete is a well-established paving company with over 25 years of experience serving Halifax Regional Municipality and surrounding communities. We provide quality residential and commercial asphalt paving services and take pride in delivering dependable workmanship on every job.

We are currently looking for a reliable, hardworking Asphalt Paving Labourer to join our crew.

The ideal candidate has previous paving or construction experience, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable performing physical work outdoors. Previous asphalt paving experience is an asset, but we are willing to consider dependable candidates with relevant general labour or construction experience who are willing to learn.

Responsibilities

As a member of our paving crew, your duties may include:

- Distributing and raking asphalt to prepare surfaces for rolling
- Spreading and levelling asphalt using proper techniques while maintaining an efficient pace
- Shovelling excess asphalt and sweeping work areas
- Assisting with general site preparation and paving operations
- Performing physically demanding manual labour throughout the workday
- Loading, moving and handling tools and materials as required
- Keeping job sites clean,



organized and free of potential hazards
- Working closely with crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently
- Following company and job-site safety procedures

What We're Looking For

- Must currently reside in Nova Scotia
- Previous asphalt paving experience is an asset; 2+ years of paving experience is preferred
- General construction or labour experience is an asset
- Reliable transportation to and from work is required
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Able to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working as part of a crew
- Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
- Willing and able to work longer hours when required during the paving season

Position Details

Job Type: Full time, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour
Location: HRM and surrounding areas
Work Location: In person
