Position: Home Child Care Provider / Caregiver – School-Age Children

$18.00 per hour

Terms of Employment:
Permanent employment, Full-time
35 hours per week

Start Date:
As soon as possible

Work Schedule:
Approximately 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with some flexibility depending on the family's schedule and children's activities.

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years of experience providing child care or similar family support.

Children's Ages

Two school-age children: 10 and 14 years old

Main Responsibilities

- Supervise and provide appropriate care for two school-age children.
- Provide after-school supervision and ensure the children maintain a safe and structured routine.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
- Assist and encourage children with homework, school projects, studying, and school-related responsibilities as needed.
- Accompany or take children to and from school, appointments, extracurricular activities, sports, or other scheduled activities as required.
- Encourage age-appropriate independence, responsibility, good habits, and positive social development.
- Support household rules, routines, and expectations established by the parents.
- Provide appropriate emotional support and maintain open communication with the children and parents.




- Organize age-appropriate recreational activities, outings, games, and other activities.
- Monitor the children's schedules, activities, and general well-being.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and positive workplace in the home.
- Assume responsibility for the household and children when the parents are absent.

Household Responsibilities

- Perform light housekeeping and general cleaning related to the household and children's activities.
- Prepare meals and assist with kitchen cleanup.
- Wash, fold, and organize clothing and household linens as required.
- Keep children's rooms and common areas organized.
- Shop for groceries and household supplies when required.
- Assist with other reasonable household duties while the children are at school.
- Travel with the family occasionally, if required, and assist with child supervision and light household duties during trips.

Security and Safety

- Criminal record check / Vulnerable Sector Check
- References required
- Child-care-related background screening as required
