Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Construction Labourer to join our team.
We are looking for someone who has knowledge of basic construction, specifically commercial job sites. This is an entry to mid level position working with the GC and Forman on the team for general commercial construction duties. Training on new tasks and responsibilities will be provided by our Foreman team who have a combined 40 years of experience. We are looking for a long-term employee who will prove themselves in a contract position and transition into the team should their work ethic and skill set command a position with our team. The starting renumeration is based on an entry level skill set. Should your skill set exceed that of a general labour your rate will reflect that contribution to our team.
To start you are required to have a drivers licence and vehicle. In some cases you will meet your Foreman to be picked up
Our projects are all over the GTA and Southern Ontario, and travel is expected to change from project to project and day to day. In cases where the travel is far accommodations would be paid for you would be expected to stay over night in hotels or airbnb’s
Duties
- Perform general labor tasks including loading and unloading materials, and cleaning work areas, site maintenance, minor demolition- further skills are acknowledged
- Learn skills such as framing, drywall and taping
- Learn general job site skills
- Assist skilled tradespeople with their tasks as needed, providing support to ensure project timelines are met.
- Move materials from job sites (with a company vehicle)
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Ultimately, take direction from the Foreman on what is required day to day
- Some finish work and carpentry
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods
- Valuable communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, or general labor is a plus but not required
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks as needed
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass any required background checks or drug screenings
